Lumine stood in the threshold of Aethers bedroom. Did she dare step over it and into the lion's den? It would be risky, but what is life without a little risk? Deep breaths, Lumine. You can do this. One foot in front of the other.
"Aether, it's been a full 24 hours. You need to look away from the textbook and eat something. And wouldn't you know it...I happen to have ordered too much from Jade Garden," she finished by holding up two whole bags of chinese delivery food.
Aether had stared at the textbook in front of him that was surrounded with various papers for hours. His eyes were heavy, his head was pounding, and the words didn't look like any form of language he knew by now. He had given up on breaks long ago, attempting to drill as much as he could into his head. Luckily, he was thankful his sister knew not to disturb him, but he hated she knew him and kept track of him (even though he appreciated it more).
Barely breaking his line of sight to glance at her, despite the frazzled mess of blonde hair that was currently only half braided and very unbrushed, he shook his head. "I'll eat in a bit- Just gotta finish this chapter. I only have..." Forcing himself to skim over the pages, he ignored the rumbling and growl from his stomach. "20 pages left." Which was a lot already without the help of the chapter being 25 pages, but the five pages he's read already being forgotten from stress.
Although the smell of the food made him want to stop, he couldn't bring himself to. Even if he needed to stretch as well since he couldn't remember the last time he had actually moved. "You say you ordered too much as if it was an accident. You don't ever just accidentally order two whole bags of chinese food."
